The National Restaurant Association recently announced the education sessions for its inaugural International Wine, Spirits & Beer Event (IWSB), which will debut May 19-20 at McCormick Place in Chicago in conjunction with the four-day 2008 Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show. IWSB is the restaurant-and-hospitality industry's first forum focused exclusively on restaurant and hospitality operator beverage alcohol-related needs. In addition to the great line-up of both established and emerging wine, spirits and beer brands from around the world, IWSB will showcase highly focused education sessions featuring leading industry experts sharing insights and strategies on how to grow profits based on the latest food-alcohol pairings ideas, beverage alcohol trends, merchandising, distributor relationships and responsible alcohol service.
"Beverage alcohol represents a major profit center for many restaurant and hospitality operators. Consequently, those operators asked the National Restaurant Association to create a controlled, professional, yet exciting forum where they could interact directly with beverage alcohol producers and importers. We're proud to announce that the International Wine, Spirits & Beer Event fills that need," said William C. Anton, FMP, convention chairman for the 2008 Show, and chairman and founder of Anton Airfood, Inc. "In addition to the interactive demonstrations and relationship-building opportunities the event provides, IWSB will also feature outstanding education sessions created to help operators sharpen their bar program's competitive edge."
