D Purandeswari, Minister of State, Human Resource Development has announced that four institutes have been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to conduct foreign university programmes in India. These institutes include two IHMs. The announcement was made in the form of a written reply during the Rajya Sabha on March 3, 2008.
The IHMs that have won AICTE approvals are the Institute of Hotel Management, Aurangabad, Maharashtra, in collaboration with the University of Hudderfield, United Kingdom; and IIMT Hotel Management College, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, in collaboration with Regency Institute of TAFE, Adelaide, Australia.
