As part of a domestic and international expansion plan, Barista Coffee plans to open 80 new outlets in India. The outlets will see and investment of Rs 30─35 crore in FY08─09. The number of outlets in India will rise to 300, with the new additions. The company will launch 20 new outlets in cities/towns with no earlier presence.The company also plans to launch two outlets in Bangladesh. In the F&B sector, the company follows three types of models — corporate and company─owned stores and high street outlets. The company will add ten exclusive outlets to the existing 11. The three tier pricing strategy will be based on the outlet's location. Although, business is said to have bettered since the Luigi Lavazza Spa takeover, the company will shut down ten stores this year. Three per cent of company sales came from merchandising.
