With the scheduled opening of its first property in Jaipur in October 2008 Dawnay , Day Hotels India has further strenghened its core team with the appointment of Honey Thakur as General Manager – Human Resources.Announcing the appointment , Mandeep Lamba , Managing Dierector , DDHI said, “ Honey joins us at an important phase of our growth. The hospitality industry has for some time now faced a severe crunch in trained manpower and we plan to put a lot of emphasis on training and development”. Honey would be spearheading the human resources requirements of Dawnay, Day Hotels and the immediate focus will be on the establishments of the HR policies systems and talent acquisition’ , he added.
With a Bachelors Degree in Engineering - Computers, Honey went on to do a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing and PR and followed it up with a Diploma in HR Management. She brings with her over fifteen years of experience in Human Resource Management both in India and overseas.
She began her career with a stint at Omam Consultants, a leading HR Consultancy group before moving to Dubai were she spent over seven years with leading groups such as the Al Futtaim group and Emirates group amongst others. During her two years stint at Emirates she was with DNATA Airport Operations at Dubai Int’l Airport handling a diverse portfolio of HR Development and Training.
She moves to DDHI from the GMR group, Delhi where she was Head - Competency Development, having spent one year with the group who are responsible for revamping the Delhi Airport. She was a key member of their core team with particular emphasis on developing their training function.
