The Kenilworth Group of Hotels has tied up with University College of Gastronomy, Sweden to establish eastern India's first ever bartending school in Kolkata. Amidst the severe dearth of skilled manpower in the hospitality industry, especially in eastern India, the Kenilworth Academy of Bar Management is expected to contribute to the need of quality professionals as well as to support the growing number of premium, mid─level and budget hotels. The University College of Gastronomy, Sweden will suggest the curriculum and lend their expertise to run the school.The Kenilworth Academy of Bar Management is going to start with 30 students in its first session. Raju Bharat, Managing Director, Kenilworth Group, says, “Bartending is an art which requires a special set of skills. The curriculum taught in most of the premium hotel management schools in India is not satisfactory enough to impart knowledge of drinks and the art of serving them. A lot of speciality bars are coming up and we need a good number of ace bartenders.”
