The GCC as a bloc will create 2.5 millions jobs in tourism and hospitality sector as a result of the new tourism, hospitality, recreation, travelling and retailing projects that have been launched or those under execution in the region, a leading businessman and entrepreneur said yesterday.
Mohammad Dadabhai, the Chairman Bahrain Institute of Hospitality and Retail said: "Tourism is the largest international industry that all countries are striving to gain its benefits in order to magnetise the national young workforce."
Dadabhai, who was chief guest at the opening of the recently opening of BIHR under the patronage of the Minister of Labour Dr Majeed bin Mohsin Al Alawi, said that through training only that our young generation would be able establish their career development in Bahrain and other GCC states."
Dadabai added: "BIHR's new name and identity is harmonious with the new orientation to train young Bahrainis in various areas of hospitality, retailing and tourism in collaboration with different government bodies and private sector."
