I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Liam Lambert as President, Oberoi Hotels and Resorts effective 1st May, 2009. Mr. Lambert joins Oberoi Hotels and Resorts from his current position as Director of Operations, Europe, Middle East and Africa at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.
In his capacity as President, Oberoi Hotels and Resorts, Mr. Lambert will manage the Oberoi Hotels’ current and future portfolio. He will be responsible to me.
Mr. Lambert, an Irish citizen, has been a hotelier for over thirty years working in four continents and ten cities. He is married to Mary and has three daughters.
On behalf of The Oberoi Group I welcome Mr.Lambert to Oberoi Hotels and Resorts. I am confident that he will provide excellent leadership and direction for our present portfolio as well as our future growth. I look forward to working with Mr.Lambert in his new role.

Prior to this..
Liam Lambert joined Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in 1991 as General Manager of the Group’s largest hotel, The Excelsior, Hong Kong.
Mr Lambert has spent the past five years as General Manager of Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London, where he oversaw the completion of the hotel’s significant restoration programme in 2000, and has been instrumental in re-positioning the property as one of London’s top-performing luxury hotels. Prior to his move to London, Mr Lambert was General Manager of the Group’s flagship property, Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong from 1995 to 2000.
An Irish national, Mr Lambert holds an MBA from the University of South Australia, and attended Harvard Business School’s AMP Programme.
