TECH | Virtual events Won’t Replace Face-to-Face

According to Eventia and the Institute of Travel and Meetings, Virtual events Won’t Replace Face-to-Face meetings.

I do not agree.

The following are the key findings:
>registration and joining instructions scored 11% higher for the live event than for the virtual.

>Speaker feedback was also consistently better, with scores averaging 9% higher for the real life event.

>However, ease of interaction with delegates and speakers was scored higher in the virtual conference, by 2% and 10% respectively.

I think the registration & joining will become a snap in the days to come and I can virtually guarantee the speaker feedback will improve with better virtual experience.

Here is how I see it playing out.

Virtual events that are meant for learning and need to capture a larger audience will become virtual. face-to-face will become a more expensive and exclusive affair and will be essentially for business networking and cracking deals.

What do you think?

Also how ready are you to take advantage of this as hoteliers? What if you could hold a smaller group event at the exact time the international event is taking place. Assist everyone in the registration process (the one parameter that scores low), encourage face-to-face interaction among the local group!
