Hospitality News | Alila Hotels and Resorts to develop four properties in India by end of 2011

Alila Hotels logo hospemag According to a PTI report, Singapore-based hospitality firm Alila Hotels and Resorts has announced that it will expand its portfolio in India by developing four properties by end of 2011. For the same, the Group is scouting for local partners to open more hotels.

The company, which ventured into the Indian market in December last year with the first hotel in Goa said that India, along with China, will be the main focus markets for its global expansion. “After the property in Goa, we are now going to open another hotel in Bengaluru by end of this year. Two more properties are signed and under construction in Kerala and will be operational by 2011,” said Saji Joseph, General Manager, Alila Diwa Goa. He said that the hotel in Goa, developed by shipping firm Parekh Group, has 114 rooms currently, with another 35 to be added by end of 2010. The Bengaluru hotel will have an inventory of 116 rooms.
