Mark Satterfield, Chief Operations Officer for Marriott International for Middle East and Africa, has announced the appointment of Nihad Kattan to Country General Manager to Jordan and General Manager of the Amman Marriott Hotel effective April 2010.

In his previous role as Area Vice President, Nihad played a major role in strengthening relationships with current and prospective owners in the Middle East and Africa which has been critical to support Marriott's growth in the region.

Nihad joined Marriott in San Antonio, Texas in the early eighties and has worked for Marriott for over 26 years.

Marriott International manages three properties in Jordan, the Amman Marriott Hotel, the Petra Marriott Hotel and the Jordan Valley Marriott Resort & Spa and a fourth property in Aqaba is now under construction.
