Hotel Formula 1 has introduced another “cocoon” concept room at the Hotel Formula 1 Pretoria. This fresh new design received the ‘Best Interior Design’ award at the 2008 European Hotel Design Awards and was recently awarded the “Business Janus” label.
The new concept rooms which are aptly described as a cocoon, introduces soft colours, rounded shapes and lighting that creates a soothing ambience, combining best price with smart design. This, along with the new reception and breakfast areas mark a new wave and era for Hotel Formula 1 and low-cost hotels in South Africa.
Aligned with Accor’s environmental & corporate social responsibility policies, Hotel Formula 1 designed the new rooms with a strong focus on sustainable development. This included:
* Water efficient showers in every room
* Water-saving toilets in every room
* Easily recyclable products
* Energy efficient lighting across the hotel
* Variable Refrigerant Volume air – conditioning systems, almost halving the power consumption of the currently installed units while increasing the cooling and heating efficiency.
