Curtain Raiser- Annual 9th Chandiwala Hospitality Ensemble 2010
Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Hotel management and Catering Technology is all set to inaugurate its Annual 9th Chandiwala Hospitality Ensemble 2010 from September 22 to September 24. Coinciding with the diversity of the Commonwealth Games the Institute is organising this three day event on the theme -“Shaane` Delhi” - Delhi’s Pride –CWG 2010”. During the entire event, in addition to International Cuisines, diversity of Indian Cuisines will be prominently highlighted by the students participating and competing in the various culinary events innovated by them exhibiting their upcoming professional skills. In addition to the culinary events the other events are also being organised like Pac Asia Hospitality Brain Twister, Chandiwala Facility Planning of Hotels, Flower Arrangements and Bar Wizard Bar Challenge etc. The participants while adding new innovations to their events every year, this year they are encompassing their presentations very much in harmony with the cuisines being served to the athletes and the participants during the Commonwealth Games 2010.
In the various news flashes about the Commonwealth Games, multinational cuisines are being served to the sportsmen and the delegates at the CWG which includes assortments of ethnic and street foods of the respective Commonwealth countries participating. India has taken the lead to highlight the Indian Street Foods and its traditional cuisines from all states in the country. These foods will be served at the casual dining area and main dining hall at the various Games venues and in addition to it Village Bar will also be set up to serve liquors and wines of their choice. This concept has not beeb neglected by the Institute at their level and also by the competing teams while they are presenting their artistically plated authentic menus during the competitions.
The theme -“Shaane` Delhi” - Delhi’s Pride –CWG 2010, will highlight the essence and glorious past of the National Capital inspired by the cultural diversity of the states integrated together as, "Republic of India". This will be the prime theme of the entire venue organising the event on 24th September 2010being the Award Ceremony day. The theme of the Closing Day Dinner is "Shaan-e- Dilli” in which the students of BCIHMCT will showcase the ethnic cuisines as well as the famous street foods of Delhi highlighting the gastronomic skills carried forward from the Golden Era of the days gone by.
Like the past years this year too thirty plus Colleges from the country and across the borders are participating in various events exhibiting their achievements. The events will be judged by the eminent Chefs and Managers from the Hospitality Industry like the Oberois, The Taj Group of Hotels, The Grand, The Lalit, Lemon Tree, Crowne Plaza, The Claridges etc. This will go a long way in creating a healthy and long lasting Industry-Academics Integration.
The Opening Day will be inaugurated by the Chief Guest Mr. Barun Jolly, GM, Hotel Crowne Plaza Today, Okhla, New Delhi and the Guest Of Honour shall be Mr. M P Sinha, Exec. Director, Global Human Resource Development Centre and Mr Prabhjot Bedi Hospitality Consultant beside many other dignitaries from the Industry.
At the Valedictory Function on 24th September Mr.Dr Paul Zupan, Dean, Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development will be the Cheif Guest and the Guest of Honour will be Major Rajesh Chauhan, Vice President-HR, IHHR Hospitality Pvt Ltd and Mr. Milan Mookerjee – Corporate Head Training IHHR Hospitality,
