E-menus are a new Starwood initiative based on feedback from customers globally. E-menus enable customers to have direct access to the banquet and catering menus, either through starwoodmeetings.com, the hotel's branded web pages or through links inserted into emails and proposal documents. E-menus are available in multiple languages and are updated 24/7 by the hotels.
Like electronic meeting proposals, which Starwood also utilizes, eMenus drastically cut down on the use of paper during the meeting planning process. These are both part of Starwood's multi-pronged Sustainable Meeting Practices initiative. E-menus are easy to navigate and can highlight everything from wedding packages to special promotions. Developed using a cutting-edge web-based application, hotels can easily update the menus themselves. E-menus also eliminate the need for large attachments and bypass e-mail SPAM filters.
"Not only are eMenus more environmentally sound than paper menus, they can be viewed by anyone, anywhere with access to the Internet," said Alison Taylor, vice president of sales for Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Asia Pacific. "We are thrilled with the launch of this new tool for meeting planners and it further illustrates the importance we place on making it easy for our customers to do business with us. Planning for a successful meeting or event at one of Starwood's properties has never been easier."
The current Starwood hotels in Asia offering eMenus are: Le Royal Meridien Shanghai, Royal Orchid Sheraton Bangkok, Sheraton Imperial Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Sheraton on the Park Sydney, Sheraton Saigon Hotel & Towers, W Hong Kong, The Westin Beijing Chaoyang, The Westin Kuala Lumpur, The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa, and The Westin Resort Nusa Dua Bali.
