A new enhancement to Best Western's web site is helping the World's Largest Hotel Chain® meet travellers' demands for environmentally-friendly hotels.
Hotels that comply with a national eco-labelling program for the hotel industry now can display a green leaf icon next to their listing on bestwestern.com. Travellers also can search for green hotels worldwide using this feature.
"Hotel guests are increasingly more conscious of the environmental impact of their hotel stays, and want to do business with hotels that share those same environmental values. Best Western's new green hotels icon gives them the ability to patronize our green hotels," said Rob Anderson, Chief Executive of Best Western Australasia.
17 Australian and New Zealand hotels proudly display their green credentials, after obtaining certification through the AAA Tourism Green Star Rating Scheme or for New Zealanders, the Qualmark Environmental Rating Scheme. Anderson said the number is expected to grow quickly, as member hotels are implementing green measures at record pace.
