Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts, the deluxe hotel brand by Fairmont Raffles Hotels International, which recently opened its first property Swissôtel Kolkata in India, plans to open two more properties in Bengaluru and Gurgaon by 2013.
Swissôtel Bengaluru in Whitefield will have 150 rooms and will be a part of mixed-used development whereas Swissôtel Gurgaon will have 240 rooms. The announcement was made during the three-city (Mumbai, New Delhi and Bengaluru) roadshow, which was organised by Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts. The roadshow will be held in New Delhi on November 24 and in Bengaluru on November 26, 2010.
Speaking with Hospitality Biz, Aiden McAuley, Regional Vice President Asia Pacific, Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts said, “We look forward to have our presence in major metros and gateway cities in India. With 29 hotels across the globe, we shall expand our footprints via management route in India. India is a growing market, besides the inbound market has a great potential as the outbound market. Currently, we are looking for right partners and right destinations. We shall certainly add properties if we think that it will bring value to our brand.”
McAuley further said, “India is a new and emerging market for us and every new market is different and has its set of challenges. We are used to enter new markets globally and the approach to these markets is individual.” Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts has set up global sales office in New Delhi recently and plans to set up another office in Mumbai.
