P.G. West has been named the chairman of the Best Western International Board of Directors, according to the company. West, who has been with Best Western for three decades and served as a board director since 2007, will serve a one-year term.
“With the official launch of Best Western’s Descriptor Program in February, 2011 will be a pivotal year for our brand," said David Kong, Best Western International president and CEO. "We are fortunate to have an experienced leader like P.G. West in place to lead us through it."
The brand announced more appointments to its board of directors this week.
Julie Montmaneix will be vice chairwoman after spending more than 30 years affiliated with the brand. Devang Amin, owner of three Best Westerns, was named secretary-treasurer. Jay Patel, who owns four Louisiana Best Westerns, will be the board director representing the Southeast U.S.
