The St. Regis New York has launched an innovative smartphone application that lets guests interact directly, in real time, with the hotel’s butlers and concierges.
The St. Regis New York E-Butler allows guests to effectively hold a text-message conversation with the butler and concierge staff to help coordinate myriad arrangements, from simple guest service requests to planning excursions.
"For more than 100 years, The St. Regis has provided exceptional hospitality service to its guests," says General Manager Paul Nash. "This new feature brings the iconic St. Regis guest experience into the digital age, but more importantly, it enhances our ability to provide the unparalleled level of service guests have come to expect from The St. Regis."
Along with the signature chatting functionality, the app also enables guests to book reservations at off-property hotspots, like nightclubs and restaurants. The app includes curated recommendations from New York personalities including André Leon Talley, Jason Wu, Alexis Bittar, Alain Ducasse, David Rockwell, Dale DeGroff, Harold Koda, Michel Musto, Peter Som and Preston Bailey.
In their confirmation emails, St. Regis New York guests will be directed to a link to download the app directly to their iPhone, iPad, Blackberry, Andriod or other smartphone. Guests will also be able to download The St. Regis E-Butler application for free via Apple’s App Store. The app allows guests to chat directly with butlers and concierges prior to arrival and while on property.
Contents of the app, which is a complimentary service of the hotel, will be updated seasonally. The app is designed by Los Angeles-based technology firm Runtriz.
