Bengaluru─based Hungry Zone taken over by UK's Just─Eat

Bengaluru─based Hungry Zone, the online food ordering and table reservation website, has been taken over by Britain's Just─Eat. According to a report in www.hindubusinessline.com, Just─Eat, which claims to be the world's largest online takeaway ordering service, has bought a 60 per cent stake in the business, for between USD five million and USD 10 million.

Rasmus Wolff, Chief Development Officer, Just─Eat said, “The synergy between the two companies is compelling and we are very excited to be working with such a strong local team.” He expected other international players in the market to enter India soon.

Just─Eat has expanded rapidly since being set up 11 years ago and has branches across Europe, as well as in Canada. While Hungry Zone currently works with nearly 600 restaurants, its founders hope that the new investment will allow it to expand rapidly
