The Comfort Hotel Xpress brand, which has properties now open in Copenhagen and Oslo, touts cheap rates and urban design. The concept emphasizes “music, concrete, technology, social media, people and graffiti.”

Comfort Xpress is a hipper, self-service-oriented version of Choice Hotels International’s Comfort brand. Comfort Xpress uses a limited version of the a la carte amenities model, with extra charges for things like housekeeping service (US$17) and fresh towels (US$6). Nightly room rates at the Oslo property are approximately 800 kroners (US$136).
The 180-key Comfort Xpress Hotel, Oslo, which opened this month, features an automated check-in process from Ariane Systems that lets guests access their rooms without needing to visit the front desk. Guests can either check in from their mobile phones, accessing the guestroom via OpenWays’ Mobile Key acoustic access system, or by acquiring an RFID keycard from a lobby kiosk.
