According to a report in The Hindu Business Line, Liam Lambert, President, East India Hotels (EIH) Ltd, has quit the company citing personal reasons. This information was given by SS Mukherji, Vice─Chairman, EIHL. Mukherji further said that there is no word on who will take Lambert's place. Lambert was appointed in July 2009.
Lambert left EIH in September─October 2010. According to other EIH officials, Lambert quit saying that he wanted to pursue his own interests or perhaps even go back to Europe. Lambert hails from Dublin, Ireland and has spent a considerable period of his career working in Paris, Canada, Sydney and the Philippines. Prior to joining EIH, Lambert was Director of Operations for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.
