Budget hotel operator Travelodge has reported a 13 per cent increase in total sales for 2010, despite what it called a tough trading environment.
The group saw like-for-like sales grow by 6 per cent compared with the previous year, with London leading the way.
A total of 70 new Travelodge hotels opened over the course of the 12-month period, with 36 currently under construction. Four hotels have already opened in 2011.
Travelodge chief executive officer Guy Parsons said: "We have delivered a robust performance whilst continuing our strategic UK growth programme and demonstrating Travelodge's continued strong recovery."
