InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) will soon introduce the Holiday Inn Express brand and has signed a series of management contracts with Delhi─based developer, Amrapali Group for operating 'Express' branded hotels in India, thus marking the brand's debut in country.
Holiday Inn Express is a mid─market brand from IHG's stable. The first property is scheduled to open in Noida in 2013 followed by openings in Indore, Jaipur and Kochi. Construction for all the hotels will commence in later part of 2011.
“The Holiday Inn family of brands represents a great opportunity for IHG as it is well positioned to meet the increasing demand for rooms in the mid─market and limited service segments. The current business model has proved its resilience and we continue to evaluate opportunities in this space to drive growth and value for shareholders, owners and guests,” Jan Smits, Managing Director, IHG Asia Australasia told Hospitality Biz
