Starwood CEO’s compensation grows 7% to US$9.5m

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide CEO Frits van Paasschen collected approximately US$9.5 million in salary, bonuses and stock options in 2010—up 7% from his 2009 compensation.


Van Paasschen’s salary rose to approximately US$1.2 million from US$1 million the year before, and his performance-based cash bonus jumped US$1.3 million to US$3 million, according to a review of Starwood regulatory filings by The Associated Press. Van Paasschen’s stock options fell slightly, from US$5.3 million in 2009 to US$5.2 million last year.

AP calculates executive compensation based on filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, isolating the value the company's board placed on the executive's total compensation package.
