Hilton Worldwide has signed its third franchise deal in Romania, a conversion agreement with property owner SC Valdor SRL for DoubleTree by Hilton Ploiesti. The DoubleTree flag will debut later this year following refurbishment and extensive upgrades.
DoubleTree by Hilton has two additional projects under development in Romania, in Oradea and Bucharest. The Ploiesti deal is the seventh property open or in development in Romania for Hilton Worldwide. “We have dedicated development resources in Romania and regard it as an important market in our European growth plans,” says Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president of development in Europe and Africa. “The signing of DoubleTree by Hilton Ploiesti demonstrates the brand’s appeal in the market, particularly for new-build and conversion hotels.”
The 242-key Ploiesti hotel includes two restaurants, a bar with a terrace, a fitness center, a swimming pool, a spa and meetings space.
