There are designs and then there are well, designs.

A 150-m hotel designed in the shape of a ping pong paddle has been proposed as part of a 67-ha sports complex in the eastern city of Huainan.
The hotel is being developed by the local government at a cost of 300 million yuan (US$46 million), China Daily reports. It will feature three main sections—the handle will be an observational area, the paddle itself will house an undisclosed number of guestrooms, and the first floors will include conference facilities.
"An erected ping pong racket has a perfect architectural shape for a hotel," says Jin Chang, director of Huainan Municipal Bureau of Sports.
