Forms a 66:34 Joint Venture with Pune Based Phadnis Group
To set up a manufacturing facility in Maharashtra

Dan Cake, Portugal, one of the leading names in the world of bakery and confectionary industry and one of the largest butter cookies producers worldwide is all set to enter Indian market through a JV with Pune based Phadnis Group. This was announced by Kantilal Jamnadas, Chairman of the Board, Dan Cake, Portugal during a Press Conference held in the city past week.
An agreement to this effect has been signed between Dan Cake, Portugal and Phadnis Industries Limited, a Phadnis Group Company to form 'Danesita Phadnis Food Industries Limited', a 66:34 Joint Venture between Dan Cake, Portugal and Phadnis Industries Limited. Pune based Phadnis Group is engaged in businesses like Real Estate, Infrastructure, Hospitality and IT currently.
"We would be making our 'Danesita' brand stronger in the Indian market. 'Danesita' is already popular and established in many European Countries for its range of products including Cookies, Butter Cookies, Biscuits, Swiss Rolls, Family Cakes to name a few", said Kanitlal Jamnadas, Chairman of the Board, Dan Cake, Portugal.
"We are happy to have fast progressing Phadnis Group as our joint venture partner in this endeavor who would be helping us in setting up the manufacturing infrastructure and starting the India operations and we would be bringing in domain knowledge and the best in class technology for producing the best in class products for the Indian market" he added.
Vinay Phadnis, Chairman of the Phadnis Group said, "We would be setting up an ultramodern, fully mechanized manufacturing unit in the state of Maharashtra, where all 'Danesita' value added products would be produced. This would be the first production unit of Dan Cake outside Portugal."
"We are targeting the year end for introducing the 'Danesita' product range to Indian market. Apart from catering to the Indian market, we shall also explore the possibilities of exporting the 'Danesita' products to nearby countries", he added.
