Hilton signs second Garden Inn for South America

Hilton Worldwide has signed a management deal to operate the first Hilton Garden Inn in Argentina and the second in South America.

The new-build Hilton Garden Inn Zarate, scheduled to open in early 2013, represents the company’s fourth development deal in Argentina and the second Garden Inn in South America. The brand will make its debut in the region later this month with the opening of Hilton Garden Inn Santiago Airport, Chile.

“We are proud to add the Hilton Garden Inn Zarate to our South American portfolio as it complements our existing Hilton Buenos Aires property in the city,” says Tom Potter, area vice president of South America for Hilton Worldwide. “This latest hotel deal and the upcoming opening of Hilton Garden Inn Santiago Airport demonstrate our continued interest in expanding our presence throughout the region.”

The 159-key Hilton Garden Inn Zarate, located approximately 50 miles from Buenos Aires, will form part of a mixed-use development that will also include a convention center, commercial space and 144 residential condominiums. The hotel will offer a bar, a full-service restaurant, a business center and about 4,300 sq. ft. of meeting space. Recreational facilities include outdoor and indoor swimming pools, a sun deck, tennis courts and a fitness center.

In Argentina, Hilton Worldwide currently manages Hilton Buenos Aires in Puerto Madero, and has two hotels under development: Hilton Iguazu Resort and Hilton Ushuaia.
