The Best Western hotel chain has announced plans for major expansions in Oman, according to local newspaper, the Muscat Daily.
The American hotel chain, the world's largest with over 4,000 hotels in 80 countries, is planning hotel in Al Khuwayr, Salalah and Sohar.
"Oman is one of the key destinations we are looking at. In the past decades, the nation has seen rapid infrastructural development, especially in Muscat. The government too is aggressively promoting tourism to international markets. Therefore, Oman is among our strategic destinations for the chain's expansion," said Betty Pongs-Taporn, communications executive, Asia and Middle East at Best Western Hotels.
