Narong Pattamasaevi, Chairman, Montara Hospitality Holdings Co. Ltd., has announced Marie Laure Fleury will be appointed General Manager of Boathouse, the legendary 37-room boutique resort on Kata Beach, Phuket.
Effective immediately, Marie Laure Fleury will oversee the lead-up to the reopening of the resort in October 2011, following extensive renovations.
Prior to her appointment, Marie Laure Fleury held the position of Resort Manager for the world-renowned destination, Trisara, Phuket, also owned by Montara Hospitality Holdings Co. Ltd.
A graduate of Lausanne Hotel School, Marie Laure Fleury is a 20 year veteran of the hospitality business. Before her two-year tenure as Resort Manager at Trisara, Marie was the Executive Assistant Manager of Food and Beverage at Sukhothai Hotel, Bangkok, adding to prior positions at luxury names like Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts and The Peninsula Hotels.

She will not only maintain the reputed standard of this renowned restaurant, but will without doubt bring it to the next level.”
Montara Hospitality Holdings Co. Ltd acquired Boathouse, as well as adjacent Oasis Restaurant, at the end of 2010. Two of only a very select group of luxury properties in Phuket located right on the beach, both Boathouse and Oasis Restaurant were closed on June 1st of this year for extensive renovations. Acclaimed Bali architect, Fredo Taffin oversaw the renovation and has been tasked with interpreting the theme ‘Treasuring the Past, Sailing into the Future’. As a treasured part of the Kata Beach landscape, Taffin will honour the existing lines of Boathouse, ensuring the integrity of the beachfront remains true to its origins.
