Disney has opened its Aulani Disney Resort and Spa at Ko Olina in Hawaii.
The 21-acre oceanfront property is located 17 miles from Honolulu International Airport and the project cost about US$800m (£491m, 554m euro).Aulani will include 359 traditional hotel rooms and 481 two-bedroom Disney Vacation Club villas in two towers, each featuring angled rooms offering views of the ocean and mountains.
Other amenities will include a spa, two restaurants, a kids' club a wedding lawn, a conference centre, and a themed pool area complete with swimming pool, wading pool, tube slides, sunset-facing hot tubs and a snorkel lagoon.Chair of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, Tom Staggs, said: "Aulani celebrates the best of Hawaii and represents a new way to enjoy a family vacation with Disney."Disney executive, Joe Rohde, said: "We want this resort destination to reflect the vibrant culture that surrounds it.
