Priya Paul, Chairperson, Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels has been selected for the highest civilian awards, Padma Shri, by the President of India, as part of the 63rd Republic Day celebrations, 2012. Paul has been selected considering her contributions in the field of trade and industry. She has been the President of Hotel Association of India (HAI), is a founder member of World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) – Asia Chapter, and is currently the Vice President, WTTC- India Initiative. A Bachelor of Economics from Wellesley College, USA, Paul started her career as a Marketing Manager in The Park Hotel New Delhi and taken over the leadership of the hospitality group after the unexpected demise of her illustrious father, Surrendra Paul. Her leadership qualities are widely recognized.
