With the number of Indian participants going down in this year's Food & Hotel Asia 2012 -- a leading exhibition of hospitality industry, its organiser Singapore Exhibition Services (SES) is hard selling the event to see more firms from the country to take part in future.
This year's edition of the biennial event will see a total of 22 Indian participants as compared to 27 in 2010.
"We have still not managed to find enough Indian manufacturers and exhibitors to participate in the exhibition. It is a failure on our part that we have not been able to market the exhibition well here," SES Chief Executive Stephen Tan told reporters here. SES is organising Food & Hotel Asia 2012 along with Wine & SpiritsAsia 2012 (WSA2012) in Singapore from April 17 to 20 to address requirements of buyers looking for international quality products, services, trade partners and suppliers. For the upcoming show, only a few firms from India, including, FieldFresh Foods, Hospitality First, King Metal Works and Raj Tandoor Corporation have so far registered as exhibitors. "However, we have been getting a lot of buyers from India. Last show in 2010 saw around 500 buyers and this time we are trying too get 800," Tan said.
