Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH), one of the world’s largest lodging franchisors, today announced the appointment of Barbara T. Alexander, to its Board of Directors.
“We are pleased to add Barbara as a member of our corporate Board of Directors,” said Stephen P. Joyce, president and chief executive officer. “Her knowledge of capital markets, corporate process and finance will be a tremendous asset to our experienced Board of Directors as we continue our efforts to grow Choice’s presence both domestically and around the world.”
From October 1999 to January 2004, Ms. Alexander served as a Senior Advisor to UBS Warburg LLC and predecessor firms. Prior to that (1992 to 1999), Ms.. Alexander was the Managing Director of the North American Construction and Furnishings Group in the Corporate Finance Department of UBS. In this position, she was an analyst and an investment banker covering the homebuilding industry, among other industries. In addition to her background in corporate finance, Ms. Alexander brings vast experience in corporate boards to Choice. She currently serves as a director of KB Home, Allied World Assurance Company Holdings, Ltd. and QUALCOMM Incorporated and has previously served as a director of Burlington Resources Inc., Centex Corporation, Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac), and Harrah’s Entertainment Inc.
