The Hyatt Place opening hits in the midst of peak travel season for the Big Easy on the heels of numerous festival celebrations, including the French Quarter Festival, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and New Orleans Wine and Food Experience. “We are very excited to bring Hyatt Place to New Orleans,” said Tony Welch, general manager of Hyatt Place New Orleans/Convention Center. “This hotel was designed for a lifestyle, not a demographic, and as a result, we believe that conventioneers, families, and leisure travelers will appreciate the open, intuitive design, casual atmosphere and practical amenities, such as free Wi-Fi and 24-hour food and beverage availability.” New Orleans is one of the nation’s most historical and culturally rich destinations that includes such charm as internationally recognized cuisine, Cajun country, architectural design, and of course Bourbon Street. The New Orleans Convention & Visitors Bureau reported that the city received 8.3 million visitors in 2010. Hyatt Place New Orleans/Convention Center is located in the city’s Warehouse Arts District with nearby attractions, such as the Louisiana Children’s Museum, Mercedes-Benz Superdome, Aquarium of The Americas, the historic Garden District, and the St. Charles Avenue streetcar line. Tourists headed for the many cruise ships that set sail from New Orleans will enjoy the hotel’s proximity to the Mississippi River and The Port of New Orleans.
