International hotel chain, Best Western hotels has announced its partnership with the McDonald’s Monopoly promotion, as the first hotel group to ever work with the restaurant chain on its annual campaign.
The move will see Britain’s biggest independently owned hotel group promoted across McDonald’s 1,200 UK restaurants and to 2.5 million customers every day.
As a partner the hotel group will now feature on 61 million pieces of packaging from bags to trayliners and food cartons as well as over five million collectable McDonald’s game-boards all carrying the chance to win one of 1,200 Best Western weekend breaks. The promotion of the Monopoly campaign started with a teaser campaign on packaging featuring the hotel brand earlier this month and launched on TV last Wednesday revealing the whole proposition. Tim Wade, Director of Marketing at Best Western said, “We are delighted to be partnering with McDonald’s, especially as we are the first hotel group to do so. McDonald’s is a huge brand to be involved with and the Monopoly opportunity allows us to get in front of a large audience and promote our members’ hotels at a key time for the industry.” The hotel chain, at present, has 34 properties in India with 2581 rooms in operation and various stages of development. The company plans to open 66 hotels in the country in the next five years. The hotel chain has more than 4000 hotels in over 100 countries.
