Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation has signed a franchisee agreement with Citymax Hotels to open 80 stores in the next five years across the south and west of India. James Morgan, President & CEO, Krispy Kreme Corporation, said the doughnut chain plans to reach 900 international franchisee shops in fiscal 2017 from the current 458 stores. Citymax Hotels, the leisure arm of the Dubai-based Landmark Group is looking to grow its food and beverage offering by bringing international brands into the country. "The addition of Krispy Kreme to our current portfolio of brands allows us to give customers better choice and variety," said Vishal Sawhney, President, Citymax Hotels. Citymax Hotels already operates Gloria Jean's Coffees, Polynation Food Courts and Sanjeev Kapoor's The Yellow Chilli restaurants. According to a TOI report by Samidha Sharma it is said to be targeting a billion-dollar turnover from India by 2013.
