Express Infrastructure Pvt Ltd is entering the hospitality business with an investment of around Rs 30 crore. A new company will be floated for the same. Under the new company, a four-star boutique hotel in Chennai will be ready in the next three to four months.
R R Aroon Kumar, Chief Financial Officer, Express Infrastructure Pvt Ltd said that the hotel will be named as E Hotel and will have 50 rooms. It will be set-up near the Express Avenue Mall in the city. He was talking on the sidelines of Chennai Retail Summit – 2012, organised by the Retail Association of India (RAI) on June 20, 2012 at Vivanta by Taj Connemara, Ethiraj Salai in Chennai. Along with restaurants and bars, the mall also houses international firms, and the company is expecting to attract the malls’ customers to the hotel. The company will also look at setting up more hotels in future, depending upon the performance of this project, Kumar added, according to a Business Standard report.
