Indian Made Foreign Liquor manufacturer Golden Vats Pvt Ltd is planning to launch ‘bottled in origin' (BiO) products - brandy (Cognac), scotch and rum (from the Caribbean islands). The company is in talks with various distillery units and blenders in these locations in abid to take the Golden Vats brand beyond India to other Asian countries.
“There is a huge market for BiO products in countries such as China and Sri Lanka,” said Natarajan Mahalingam, Managing Director, Golden Vats. The company is also in talks with Remy Martin to bottle and market its products in India. “Talks are at advanced stages, and the company officials are expected to visit our facility early next month,” Mahalingam said. According to reports, the company currently produces seven brands of brandy and rum. It has its manufacturing and bottling facility at Mannargudi Taluk in Tiruvarur district of Tamil Nadu. In addition to its own brands, the company bottles Tropicana and Florence for Radico Khaitan, and “we just bagged orders to bottle Peter Scot whisky of Khodays Distillery,” he added.
