NEWS | 3rd FTA dinner held at The Westin Mumbai Garden City

top_030712_1.jpgThe Third Annual Fred Tibbitts & Associates (FTA) dinner was held at The Westin Mumbai Garden City on June 30, 2012. The event witnessed around 51 guests, including regional vice presidents, general managers, hotel managers, directors of food & beverage, executive chefs, the press and valued sponsors.
FTA is a global social entrepreneurship, giving all profits to those less fortunate; and the global wine, spirits and related services consulting agency for various chain hotels and restaurants. All guests at the evening were formally announced by Pooja Vaswaney, E Commerce Manager, The Westin Mumbai Garden City; and Stanford D’Souza, Restaurant & Bars Manager, The Westin Mumbai Garden City. Tibbitts explained that the primary purpose of the FTA dinners is to recognise hospitality excellence, provide scholarships in the names of those, who make charitable contributions to benefit those less fortunate. Tibbitts then called for the evening’s thirteen ‘Loyalty Toasts’ by Lance Ourednik, General Manager, The Westin Mumbai Garden City; Dilip Puri, Managing Director-India & Regional Vice President – South Asia, Starwood Hotels & Resorts; Andrew Harrison, General Manager, Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai; Rajesh Mohan, Head-Strategic Planning & Technology, Aamby City Hotel Sahara Star; Stefan Piringer, President, Asia Pacific, MICROS-Fidelio; and Uday Thakkar, Division Sales Manager, Institutional India, Ecolab. Following the dinner toasts, Tibbitts announced a donation of USD 500 from a portion of the dinner to UN-HABITAT (United Nations Human Settlements Program). After dinner, Tibbitts announced that the 2012 FTA Hospitality Awards for Excellence Recipients will be presented with both award trophies and the scholarships at the 2012 FTA Fall Awards Dinners at The Langham, Hong Kong on October 9, 2012 and at the New York Marriott Marquis on November 3, 2012. The dinner menu was created by Executive Chef, Ajay Chopra and supervised by Chef de Cuisine Amit Kumar Suri, which included Phillips Crab, Roulade, Bitter Chocolate Cake, coffee and tea, among others.
