Kolkata-based Asian Hotels (East) Limited, which runs Hyatt Regency Kolkata is planning to set up a luxury hotel in Bhubaneswar. Umesh Saraf, Joint Managing Director, Asian Hotels (East) Limited, said that the company is awaiting some clearances for the Bhubaneswar property.
"There is a good opportunity in Bhubaneswar.
We are planning to set-up a 200-room hotel there. The investment could be Rs 150-200 crore," he added. Commenting on the branding of Bhubaneswar property, Saraf added that the company has yet to take a call on this. "It could be Hyatt Regency or some other Hyatt brands," he added, according to a TOI report by Udit Prasanna Mukherji. Saraf said that Hyatt Regency Chennai that started operations last year is doing well. Asian Hotels (East) had invested Rs 656 crore along with its subsidiary GJS Hotels for setting up the 327-room property in Chennai. Commenting on Hyatt brand, Saraf said that it would continue to use this. "We still have 15 years for this," he said.
