The company continued witnessing an impressive growth momentum with income from Sales of Vacation Ownership Plans increasing by 250% from INR 45 million in the previous year to INR 158 million. Commenting on the results Siddharth Mehta, Chairman, Sterling Holidays, said, “The growth in the top line is an indication that the Sterling brand is steadily regaining the confidence of customers, a goal we had set when we embarked on the journey of restoring the Company’s fortunes. The progress we have made in restoring the equity of the Sterling brand has been achieved primarily by enhancing our product and service standards. Going forward the company will continue to focus on exemplary service and growth in market share by driving vacation ownership sales volumes. During the quarter, the Company firmed up its plans to expand its network by adding resorts in Daman, Ganpatiphule, Ranikhet, Sariska, and Yelagiri which will become operational in Q3 of this year. With these additions, the company will be able to offer its Vacation Ownership members and guests a choice of 23 resorts to holiday. Ramesh Ramanathan, Managing Director, Sterling Holidays said, “The expansion of our network will increase our inventory by 247 rooms, taking the total to 1629 rooms. The additional inventory will offer our members a wider choice of destinations to holiday in and allow us to expand our membership base.” Ramanathan further added, “The Company is also accelerating its plans to make significant investments in upgrading and renovating existing resorts to raise the product and service standards across the network. In Q4 last year, we substantially renovated and upgraded two resorts in Kodaikanal and Munnar to global, best-in-class standards. These two resorts have since re-opened as Kodai – By The Lake and Munnar – Terrace Greens; identities that reflect their new stature. We are now undertaking to renovate Fern Hill in Ooty and will soon begin work on our resorts in Darjeeling and Mussoorie.”
