In order to give a boost to tourism in India, the government should allow activities in the buffer zone of wildlife protected area, said Satpal Maharaj, a Member of Lok Sabha said last week during the Zero Hour. "The government should permit access to tourists in the buffer zone in wildlife protected areas to promote tourism," Maharaj said.
He said that after the Supreme Court's directions,
tourists do not have access to these areas due to which they are going to certain places in Nepal to spend their holidays. As per a PTI report, Maharaj said the government should strictly prohibit entry of tourists in core areas, but buffer zones should be kept open for tourists.
