Himachal Pradesh (HP) Tourism Development Corporation's Hotel Castle Nagaar overlooking the Kullu valley has been given heritage status. The Ministry of Tourism has notified the hotel under the heritage status, Sudripta Roy, Chief Secretary (Environment and Scientific Technology, Tourism), Government of Himachal Pradesh said, as per report by IANS.

where the castle is located, was the capital of the erstwhile Kullu state for about 1,460 years. The castle has traditional architecture called Kathloonmi, which uses a combination of stones and wooden beams. The building also has an art museum. It was handed over to state-owned HPTDC in 1978 to be run as a hotel, stated the report.
