Marriott International yesterday opened the 383-room Renaissance Shanghai Caohejing Hotel in China. The hotel is managed in partnership with Shanghai Caohejing Park Huagang Properties Ltd., and represents the sixth Renaissance-branded hotel to open in the city. The 383-room property is centrally located in the Caohejing New Technology Development Zone in the Xuhui district.
“We are delighted to partner with Shanghai Caohejing Park Huagang Properties Ltd on this new Renaissance Hotel. The opening of the Renaissance Shanghai Caohejing cements our position as the dominant player in Shanghai, representing our 19th hotel in this vibrant city. It also demonstrates our confidence in the strength of the Renaissance brand, which continues to grow in China,” said Simon Cooper, President and Managing Director, Marriott International, Asia.
With 14 meeting room options of varying sizes including a divisible, pillar-free 570 square metres Grand Ballroom, the hotel offers the setting for meetings, special events and dream weddings in the area. Wanli, the hotel’s signature Chinese fine-dining restaurant, offers Cantonese and Shanghainese delicacies, while its ten private dining rooms (seating of up to 20 guests) boasts East-meets-West features of modern design entwined with local history and elements of Feng Shui.
Smoki Moto is a modern, casual and cosmopolitan restaurant offering Korean BBQ, sushi and teppanyaki favourites and signature Sojo cocktails. The hotel’s all-day dining spot, CafĂ© BLD, is a new take on Renaissance Hotel’s three-meal restaurant serving the local and international favourites prepared in an open kitchen.
