FoodPanda, a first-of-its-kind online platform, has recently set-up operations in Mumbai and Delhi-NCR region. The company provides customers the ease of choosing and ordering food from a variety of restaurants and cuisines within a given area, and places their orders almost instantly. Customers can now order from over 500 restaurants in India.
Founded by two new generation entrepreneurs - Akhilesh Bali and Amit Kohli; FoodPanda aims to emanate a young and fresh look to cater to a fast paced urban culture. "The idea was to create a platform where the consumer could order their favourite meal instantaneously without any hassles. Rather than frisking through numerous restaurants and repeating the process of providing contact details at each of them, the users can now place their order online or call a central delivery number, and the restaurant delivers the food fast, hot, and quick” said Kohli, Co-Founder, FoodPanda.
The portal not only gives users an opportunity to order food but also avail attractive deals from their preferred restaurant. Having commenced their operations earlier this year, FoodPanda is all set to aggresively scale-up its portfolio to cover top 10 cities in India in three months. “FoodPanda’s near term goal is to become the largest food ordering platform in India with largest reach and presence in each of the top 10 cities in India,” added Kohli. The company has also launched a mobile application to reach out to the customers on the go.
Bali, Co-Founder, FoodPanda, said, “With hectic lifestyle taking the leisure out of dining at restaurant premises, food delivery has become a critical aspect for restaurant owners. Also, given the increase in accessibility of internet, it is a known phenomena that users have been spending significant time online. Keeping all these points in mind we understood that it would be a worthy bet to bring food and e-commerce together.”
