Sodexo, a French catering and vouchers group will acquire MacLellan's India operations. MacLellan India provides maintenance and facility management services to industries in sectors like automotive, IT and pharmaceutical.
With this acquisition Sodexo plans to expand its footprint in India. Sodexo currently has 350 clients, providing services in 900 sites with 34,500 employees.
Post acquisition the total number of sites will increase to over 1000 and employee base to 39,000.
Sodexo aims to reach a turnover of around Rs 1150 crore post the acquisition of MacLellan. The company's current turnover stands at Rs 1000 crore.
Sodexo posted a 7.4 percent rise in quarterly revenue, driven by growing demand for its services in emerging markets. Sales reached 4.95 billion euros ($6.5 billion) in the three months to November, its first quarter, Sodexo said. Like growth was 2.1 percent, including an 8.6 percent rise in countries outside Europe and North America.
