After a year of successful operations in Chennai, The Moving Cart, which provides on-the-go dining and entertainment experience, has introduced the moving restaurant in Marine Drive, Mumbai.
Plans are afoot to launch similar services from Bandra, also in Mumbai, in May 2013, and later in seven more Indian cities, said Hardik Shah, Co-founder, The Moving Cart. Inaugurated by Dr Jagdish Patil, Managing Director, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation Ltd., yesterday, The Moving Cart would take three voyages of one-and-a-half hours each, which will begin at 1 pm, followed by 8 pm and 10 pm. The pickup point will be Hotel Marine Plaza, after which the bus will take a 'U' turn from Nariman Point, heading towards Chowpatty, and return to the starting point. Patil said, “The tourism industry is booming and there are new concepts launched by various organisations. This will help boost tourism in the state. It is time to provide tourists an exclusive experience. This initiative will give Mumbaikars and others a remarkable experience of having food around Marine Drive.”
The 20-seater lower deck will have a luxurious and elegant seating, with an ambience of variation in lights and soft music. The 20-seater upper deck will offer a chance to experience dining in the open air.
