Oriental Residence Bangkok has appointed experienced hotelier Alexander Blair in the role of General Manager. With 22 years in the hospitality industry, Blair joins Oriental Residence directly from the Maldives, where he was Resort Manager at Gili Lankanfushi. In this role, he was responsible for the management of the resort's overall operations including butler service, guest relations, housekeeping, F&B, IT,
marine biology and engineering in the resort’s 45 sumptuous over-sized water villas.
During his tenure at Gili Lankanfushi, the resort was recognised in the Conde Nast Gold List 2012, the World Travel Awards 2012 and Trip Advisor’s Travellers’ Choice awards 2013. Mr Blair joined the hotel industry in 1991 and since then he has held a number of prestigious roles with leading hospitality companies, including Rosewood Hotels and Resorts and Six Senses, in numerous international destinations, including UK, Maldives, China, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
