French hospitality company Accor is planning to add 330 rooms across five new hotels over the next two years in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
ut of the five new hotels in pipeline,four hotelsare planned on Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR) and one on Mount Roadaccording toNitin Chandra, director of sales, Accor Chennai.
The four hotels on OMR will have luxury hotels from the Novotel brand and business hotel from the Ibis brand inside the same complex. Another hotel that will be build in Mount Road will be an independent business hotel under the Ibis brand.
Other properties of Accor in India tare like the Pullman New Delhi International Airport capacitive of 270 rooms and will open door in 2013. Other hotels that are due this year are Novotel Delhi International Airport, 400 rooms, Ibis hotel Bangalore Outer Ring Road.
In April 2012, the country's economic capital Bombay welcomed its first Sofitel, the Sofitel Mumbai KBC, which contained 302 rooms and suites. Two other Sofitel establishments will also open in Bombay in 2015.
Plans of bringing up properties in other business locations like Bangalore are also in the making.
Accor tied-up with InterGlobe in 2010 to establish an investment fund for a portfolio of India hotel. Accor, the global hotel operator and market leader in Europe, is present in 90 countries with 4,100 hotels and close to 500,000 rooms. In India, Accor is deploying hotel brands ranging from luxury through to budget offerings.
