Chen has been the general manager at Rancho Valencia Resort and Spa in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., since 2011. He oversaw a total renovation and repositioning of this widely acclaimed resort. He studied at the Hotel School at Intercontinental in Sydney and has been in the hospitality business since 1990, working for independent hotels as well as the Ritz-Carlton in locations around the world, including mountain properties such as Bachelor Gulch, Telluride and Vail.
Chen worked at The Little Nell in the mid-1990s as front-office manager and assistant guest-services director.
